Before & After . . .
(Both lovely, but one tells a bit more of the story)
Super fun before and after reveal! As a photographer, I believe my job is to not only deliver exactly what my camera captures, but to also retell the moments and feeling of the session itself. @lsmythbooks and I were quick to realize we were very similar and quite possibly kindred spirits. The camera saw her lovely smile, a bit of sky, and the mountain horizon. However, in person, I saw this glowing young lady filled with courage and joy that so happened to stand confidently in front of a gorgeous stormy sky sunset peaking over the mountains. Sometimes the camera and I communicate and both see eye to eye, but this particular image needed a little extra imagination and spark. The straight out of camera (or the SOC) failed to show everything we were feeling in this moment and the artist (that’s me) had to help it tell the full so story. Does a picture really say a thousand words? Not always, but it can at least portray a few paragraphs! I’ll be sure to share the images that tell the story of our shared understanding of empty journal hoarding and saving the most precious pages of paper for the most amazing writings. Who else does this!? Where are my empty journal keepers just waiting for the perfect reason to actually use the super special blank pages on your shelf!? 🙋🏻♀️
